Our family (grown children) cooking class in Seville was fabulous! Our head “chefs,” the shopping at the market, getting everyone involved in the meal preparation, and the meal itself could not have been better. It was a fantastic family activity that we all enjoyed, and in addition, it was a wonderful way to spend my birthday! Thank you to our two hostesses/chefs, who were both wonderful to spend the day with! Woud have loved to enjoyed more of Seville with them.

For the tapas cooking class we started at the Feria St Market buying local produce, olives and other supplies. We got to taste the olive selection! Then proceeded to a shared kitchen space to learn to cook salmorejo, espinaca con garbanzos, pisto, and sangria. And we finished with chocolate ice cream with salt and olive oil. Ester and Francesca were great instructors!

We absolutely loved our cooking class with Miguel! We couldn’t do the regularly scheduled class, so Mahsa rescheduled and created our own class for us in the evening. So kind of them to do that!

The cooking class itself took place in this cool little kitchen and totally gave you the local feel of what it’s like to live in Seville and be making tapas. Miguel was really knowledgable about the food, the origin of tapas, Seville culture and attractions. It was great! And his English is super good.

The food was delicious and we will definitely be making it when we get back to the states. Totally doable for anyone. You don’t have to be a super star chef or anything.

Then at the end of our class Mahsa stopped by and heard that we were interested in a flamenco show for the next night. She set one up for us at an amazing place and all we had to do was show up and pick up our tickets and attend. And her recommendation on the place to go was so spot on. The flamenco at Casa del Flamenco was incredibly beautiful and passionate. Then she emailed me all the recipes of the food that we had made with Miguel and they recommended a really cool place for us to go out and get drinks after the class.

Really could not speak any higher of Not Just a Tourist. Their cooking class is awesome and I’m sure that any tour that they put on would be done with the same care and skill. They really care about their customers and making sure they get a local taste of Seville!! Highly recommend!

I was a solo traveller in Seville and had a few days. I contacted Mahsa at Not Just a Tourist and she was very fast in responding. She was able to find out right away my interests and suggested a few activities that were all tailored to my time and likings. The tapas tour was really interesting and great value for the money. It’s best to take it right at the beginning of your stay in Spain since it really helped me to eat my way along my journey in Spain. The kayak and the bike tours were great to give me an idea about Seville and its history but more than anything having a good time with great guides. I did an Iberian ham tasting day trip and it turned out to be a feast of good quality ham and local cheese. The place is run by a friendly Spanish family that moved back from Germany to Spain. The tour takes you to small villages, We stopped on the way to have breakfast and it was by far the simplest but best food experience I’ve ever had. On my last day I did a cooking class where we visited a lively and old local market to get the groceries and then went to a very interesting patio in a beautiful neighborhood where artists where creating all different things while we were cooking. The menu was 100% Spanish and very easy to make and tasty to try. I had 4 different guides and they were all excellent. I wish I had more days to try out more tours with Not Just a Tourist.

Michael and I could not have imagined a more perfect way to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary than to spend it with Javier. Javier was amazing, not only showing us around Saville and taking us to the market to shop for the items on our menu; but also sharing the culture and traditions of the environment around us. Not only did we learn how to cook local dishes, but we also learned about the warmth, charm, and hospitality of Saville through the incredibly welcoming lessons of our new friend Javier. We would recommend this experience to anyone that wants to learn about the local culture and the warm charm that surrounds Saville. Thank you to Javier and the Not Just a Tourist team for making our anniversary one to remember!

My husband and I loved our time spent with our two hosts/chefs for the tour this summer! It was truly a unique unforgettable experience. We enjoyed our time looking at the markets, preparing and eating traditional tapas and discussing Seville. Our hosts showed us warmth and hospitality and we learned so much from our short afternoon spent with them. Would 100% recommend this tour.
