You will start with meeting your guide that is either a vocational chef or a passionate foodie. You will visit the oldest market in Seville, which is a lively hangout place for the locals. You will purchase some fresh ingredients, depending on what’s in season and have a short walk to the cooking space.
The workshop can take place at an Art Gallery that is located at the heart of the Bohemian neighborhood of Seville. This is one of few remaining so-called “Andalusian Patio” that is still in use in Seville. They were traditional spaces where artisans used to live and work in the same place. Due to the construction boom and high prices of the real state in the old town these traditional space were erased so that this is a great chance to have an insight into what was a “co-working” place a long time ago.
If space is closed for events then the activity will take place at the tiny flat of your teacher that is a typical flat in Spain where you will have a first-hand insight into the Spanish culture and cuisine and the “real life”
So, this is definitely not a normal cooking class as our idea is to bring together cuisine, culture, and connections. That is why you are with a local teacher, visit the oldest market in Seville, walk in the residential neighborhood and use local spaces such as the teacher’s flat or the so-called “Andalusian Patio”.
The menu is adjustable to your taste and preferences but can include salmorejo (a purée of tomatoes and bread), or gazpacho as a starter, spinach with chickpeas, tortilla de patatas (Spanish omelet), pisto or Paella.
