When you think of a capital you tend to think of the plenty, embodied in the many cars, many people & many shops that are jammed in it and all the stressful words such as traffic, parking problems or rush hour that are associated with the concept of a capital. But Banjul is different with its village-like atmosphere. It´s slow paced with few cars, no traffic at all, lying beautifully on the Atlantic coast sipping from the lazy waves that hit her surprisingly solitary coastline day after day. From all the capitals I ´ve seen across the continents my 2 favorites are Vientiane and Banjul mostly because of their anti capital feel & their airy presence.
