More information
Rise above the maze of streets that make up Granada’s most vibrant neighbourhoods as we give you a unique perspective of the city. Gaze over the patchwork cloth of houses that clings to the mountains and peak in as it oozes with life from five amazing viewpoints.
We will start our journey at Plaza El Salvador, the heart of Albaicin, and wiggle our way down. Our Granada is where the romantic poets and hopeful artists once sat. We will visit the locals favourite hangouts and city’s most idyllic spaces as we show you a new side of the city.
See the Arab Quarter, the Albaicin, from up high, and deep within. This neighbourhood, now a UNESCO World Heritage site, tells us the story of Al-Andalus – the great Muslim kingdom. Overlook the old arab walls that once protected the city and catch a glimpse of the river Darro as she snakes between the mountains. There is so much the eye can miss, which is why we like to admire from above.
Visit the gypsy neighbourhood, Sacromonte, the land of caves. Delve deep into what is now the heart of bohemian misfits, their art and their music. Soak up breathtaking views of the Alhambra and the city. The dozens of churches and Cathedral tower laid out as if a painting, just you and the Sierra Nevada, invited to view.

We were on our honeymoon and wanted to have a different tour. Mahsa suggested the sunset walking tour. It was just the perfect choice. We were met by our guide in a central square and walked up the narrow alleys in an old neighborhood to the first view point. The view over Alhambra and the Sierra was gorgeous and there were a few buskers playing music. Then we moved on to a less known viewpoint from which we could see the entire city. In the end we walked to the old city walls and found ourselves alone on top of the city. It was such a magical experience to be all by ourselves and watch the city from above.

We took two tours with Not Just a Tourist. The first one was a rooftop tour that took us to amazing (AMAZING) view points in Granada. I wish I was there right now. Our tour guide was cool, it was just me and my husband, we got a private view of so many cool places. The second was the tapas tour in Granada and we loved the idea of dining with tapas. It is so much fun, easy going and varied. We went to 3 different taverns which we would have missed without our guide, Miguel and where every drink comes with a tapa. Miguel even took us back to our hotel as we were not able to find our way even with the help of GPS.

I was pleasantly surprised by Not Just a Tourist. Mahsa is incredibly responsive. I arrived by bus on Sunday afternoon and thought I wouldn’t mind doing a walking tour in Granada to get a bit familiarized with the town but not being a huge planner I hadn’t booked anything. I contacted Mahsa on the Sunday afternoon and she was able to tee me up a walking tour for that night, which was amazing. It turned out it was a private tour and Pedro (the guide) was both personable and knowledgeable.

The sunset tour is a must do tour in Granada after Alhambra. You have to walk a bit and it is uphill but the guide is very relaxed and it goes at a slow pace to take it all in.

We combined this tour with a Tapas tour and had the best of the two worlds. It took us about 5 hours with 4 taverns and 3 viewpoints. The selection of food was great and the view over Granada is just mind blowing. Once you are on the top watching the impressive view you don’t want to walk back to the town.

This 2 hour tour is a great way to see the city from above and learn about the history if you have little time in Granada. You can also hike up to the old city walls. Highly recommended.

My husband and I participated in two tours with Not Just a Tourist in Granada, while on our honeymoon. Both experiences were just so completely stellar; the guides are wonderful, knowledgeable and SO FUN. We felt like we were with friends and they treated us so well. We would absolutely book an experience with them again!

We absolutely enjoyed our sunset tour with great flamingo music and a drink in the old neighborhood of Albaycin.

Very good tour indeed. Jesus was a great guide, spoke excellent English and showed us views of Granada that were breathtaking. His knowledge of the history and architecture of the city was extensive and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who wants to see the city from a different view.

I was just in Granada recently, and I was looking to do some tours and have some fun. So I booked three tours with a company called Not Just a Tourist. I chose the panoramic walking tour, sunset walking tour and finally an Alhambra tour. The panoramic tour was really amazing, a really fun tour and the guide was great, we walked in many different neighborhoods and different plazas, all with such interesting and unique history. My sunset walking tour really blew me away; I mean I would have never suspected that when I was walking down all these streets that such amazing terrace’s were above me. And the views from these places were stunning and they all had pretty cool little bars so you could enjoy a drink and watch the beautiful sunsets. My Alhambra tour tour was also a great tour, I mean it was sunny and hot but the monument and its beautiful garden would offer such a nice shelter and shade. Overall I would recommend any of the tours I have done, and judging by these tours, I wouldn’t hesitate to take any of their other tours next time I am in Seville.
