More information
Cordoba’s story spans centuries, and it’s modern life is buzzing. This perfectly mismatched layering of time makes Cordoba the perfect spot for an endless day trip of discovery.
The adventure begins with your comfortable hotel pick-up. As we journey across Andalusia you will catch your first glimpse of olive groves and splurging countryside. Listen closely and you might hear the gentle songs of others who passed before you: the many traders, warriors and religious pilgrims.
Cordoba itself has its own tale. Explore the city’s old town and Jewish quarter, infamous for its narrow alleys and splurging flower pots. Find a plethora of colorful stores, showcasing a beautiful selection of Andalusia’s artisan products and tasty local specialties. Treat yourself to one of the city’s delectable restaurants, perhaps the local choice of Salmorejo.
For a telescopic view into Cordoba’s past, stroll along the Guadalquivir River to find its Roman bridge and historic mills or stumble into the infamous patios of Cordoba. Once the centerpieces and communal areas of all traditional houses, now morphed into green havens in the middle of the city.
Looming above the city stands Cordoba’s Mezquita. Not half mosque nor half cathedral. Another layer of the city’s rich history and its Christian and Muslim heritage. Unravel its past and discover that, in true Spanish style, it is actually a cathedral inside a mosque! Your deep insight does not stop here as we visit the intricately carved synagogue nestled deep in the Jewish quarter.
Breathe in the air, take a moment, and revel in the city you have just conquered.

If you don’t like big groups this tour is perfect. We had a private tour and all the attention of our 2 guides for ourselves. Carmen, showed us a lot of details of the Mosque and Pedro took us to some cool patios decorated with flowers. For lunch we were lucky to end up in a restaurant with flamenco singing. An absolute highlight!

Excellent guides and organization. Able to arrange services all over Spain. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to see Spain in a different way!

We were really satisfied with our tour in Cordoba which felt kind of private. The guide was very attentive and our group tour of the Mosque had only 10 people. We like jewelry and Cordoba has great artisans. It seemed like a charming city with a lot of art and small traditional shopping malls called Souq. If you start your tour at the Roman bridge you will be very impressed just by entering Cordoba.

The day trip my niece and I took to see Cordoba and the Mosque with Carlos was perfect! I definitely recommend Not Just a Tourist and would use them again for future plans the next time I am in Spain.

We loved our tour, to Cordoba! Pedro was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and shared about his own family, too. He was a skilled driver and accommodated the trip to our own pace. A private tour was arranged of the mosque (Carmen). In hindsight, we would have been better to have toured the mosque on our own. Highly recommend!
