At the Old Tobacco Factory, you’ll learn about the cigar girls. You’ll also discover the role of women at the Costurero de la Reina (the queen´s sewing box), and at Maria Luisa Park. You’ll end the tour at the square where a literary Don Juan laid his hands on a certain Doña Inés.
The itinerary highlights one of the city’s most popular parks, the awe-inspiring architecture of Exposition 1929, and the narrow alleys of the Jewish quarter of Santa Cruz.
Take a leisurely walk through the city and pass by some of the most interesting monuments that date from a variety of historical periods. At the same time, you’ll learn about Seville’s past from a female perspective.
This unique tour is 100 percent inspired by the women who played important roles in the history of Seville even if they don’t appear in all the history books.

I did 2 tours with not just a tourist and both were great. The “women” of Seville tour was a wonderful alternative perspective on how women (weak and strong) were involved in the history of Seville and Spain. Saw great sights, and learned things I would never have found out about.
I also did the Triana Tapas tour with Mahsha and Davide. On this one we went to real bars and restaurants where locals go, as opposed to just touristy places. Such great energy in every stop. I loved talking to Mahsha and Davide about the city they love and all of their experiences. When I go back to Seville some day, I will definitely book this company for other “off the beaten path” experiences.

We took the 2 hour walking tour called Seville: Queens, prostitutes, nuns and witches. It was a history of Seville through the stories of women who had lived there and influenced society and the course of events. A fascinating change from the male oriented history we usually hear.
Our guide Caroline was no mere guide rattling off a typical script. Not only was she a delightful story teller but she had clearly done a lot of the research to help develop this tour, so it was a rich afternoon. For example, we visited the magnificent former tobacco processing factory, learned about its big role during one stage of Seville’s history, and about the first female workers strike led by a beautiful, free spirited woman.
We wandered through the Jewish quarter and past an Inquisition scene learning about events through stories of local women. As we strolled through the royal gardens we heard stories of queens who had been raised in monasteries, or fled to them when widowed. We heard about the amazing Queen Isabella and her role in creating what we now call Spain. We ended in the beautiful Plaza Espana, where we saw the only two women represented there amongst hundreds of men.
It was a fascinating afternoon wandering through some of the key areas of Seville and learning about the people who have lived and shaped this colorful city.
If you’re looking for a different kind of history tour with a delightful, educated guide, I highly recommend this tour.

A friend and I did the Queens, Nuns, Prostitutes & Witches Tour. It was unbelievable, such a good tour, short and sweet, but so much history. Afterward our guide told us some good tapas places and bars to visit.

We did the ‘Queens, nuns, prostitutes and witches’ tour with Sara, it was great! The tour gave a really interesting view of the history of the city, focusing on famous women. Sara was very funny and informative, with excellent English. We would definitely do another tour.

A really different and quirky take on the history of Seville stressing the often unrecorded role of women. Starting by the river and meandering to finish in the centre, with our guide David full of information and advice. Just do it.
