I planned to travel from Cordoba to Seville on my birthday and wanted to do something special so I contacted Not Just a Tourist to arrange a private transfer including an Olive Oil tour and tour of Carmona. Not Just a Tourist responded promptly to all my emails and the booking process went smoothly. The olive oil tour ended up being one of the highlights of my fantastic 14 day vacation in Spain! Our tour guide, Miguel, promptly picked us up from our hotel and was so friendly, accommodating and flexible. He appropriately adjusted our schedule to take into account the 110F temperature that day. He also went out of his way to locate an excellent ice cream shop to satisfy our craving. The olive oil tour itself was great. We learned so much about olives and the olive oil making process and will never look at olive oil in the same way again. The tasting part was both fun and surprising. I highly recommend booking a tour with this very professional company.

Loved our time in Seville during our recent Andalusian trip but it was our day outside the city that was especially memorable. We opted for the Olive Oil Tasting and Carmona Tour and couldn’t have had a lovelier day with our guide Jose. He was professional, personable, and very knowledgeable and by the time we were having lunch at an authentic, non-touristy and delicious tapas bar in Carmona, we felt more like friends than clients. It was a perfect day—first a tour by the owner of a beautiful working olive oil hacienda who clearly loved sharing his passion for producing the highest quality oil, ending with a tasting. Next, Roman ruins outside Carmona, tapas lunch and then coffee at a paradore overlooking the valley. I highly recommend this tour—and Jose– if you want a taste of the countryside with a side of olive oil!

We(two couples) toured the White Towns in SE Spain on a day trip and it was a magnificent trip which included several of the towns, one of the five oldest Olive oil factories, lunch I Zaragoza. Our tour guide was superb, spoke good English and made the full day tour a truly exciting adventure. One of our couples had done a self guided tour in a rental car in 2001 and it was nowhere as good an experience. We were so impressed that we did another “Tapas tour” the following day, which was also wonderful.
We only wish we had planned more time for more “Not Just a Tourist” adventures. We arranged the tours online.

This tour was a highlight of our stay in Seville. Our tour guide, Jose, was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and charming. We started out in lovely Carmona, visiting the necropolis and historic town sites, then went to a family owned olive oil producing hacienda. The patriarch of the family took us to the orchards and fully explained, with passion and obvious love for his work, how olives grow and are harvested. We then visited the processing area where his son-in-law took over to explain the production process. We ended with an educational tasting and a visit to their gift shop, where of course we purchased some of their fantastic oil. The olive oil was like none I’ve ever tasted. From there we were driven back to Carmona for lunch at Parador de Carmona, which is in a 14th century former Arab fortress. It was beautiful, with stunning views and very good food. This was an all day tour, and may have gone a bit longer than they anticipated, but both Jose our tour guide and Jose our driver were very kind, waiting patiently for us to finish our lunch. With door to door pick up and delivery, and transportation in a very nice and comfortable car, my daughter, my friend, and I were completely satisfied with this tour and would highly recommend!

José of Not Just A Tourist guided us on a tour that first went to Basilippo, an olive orchard and production facility. Our host there, Isaac, along with José, gave us an informative and pleasent tour. In Carmona we saw some of the major sights. Not Just A Tourist easily arranged our tour. Pick-up and drop-off worked flawlessly. The cost of the tour was very fair. José and our driver were happy to inform us and answer questions. We would be Happy to work with Not Just A Tourist again.
