We had a couple of tours booked with Not Just a Tourist and they were all amazing. Pedro, our guide at Alhambra was very knowledgeable and very good with kids too. The tickets were pre-purchased so that we entered directly and after 30 minutes we got to see the most beautiful palace ever, called Nasarid. The 2.5 hours went by flying. After that, we went for a walking tour through the old town. Pedro took us to 2 amazing tapas bars and could accommodate my wife’s dietary limitations being a vegetarian. So far, we had a hard time finding suitable food for her. All in all, we went very impressed with our experience with Not Just a Tourist and would recommend it.

2 of the best tours my wife and I ever had! The tour to Granada in Spain was awesome. Miguel, our guide, was very friendly and knowledgeable. He went the extra mile to show us little restaurants, shops and parts of the city that a tourist will never find. The visit to the Alhambra was breathtaking. We felt Miguel was a good friend more than just the tour guide. He also gave us great recommendations for things to do back in Seville.

Couldn’t have asked for a better guide to the Alhambra for me, my wife, and young daughter than the energetic Pedro. He met us very early at the main gate and started the tour by putting the Alhambra’s story in the context of the broader historical and geopolitical context of Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East from the 8th century onwards. In addition to talking about the Alhambra’s story, he was ready with a folder of pictures and maps to enhance the tour.
It was a special experience walking the Nasrid Palace and grounds in the first light of the morning, when fewer people were around. As the tour progressed, the colors – and the atmosphere – of the monument changed as the sunlight intensified. Pedro pointed out small and interesting details along the way, including the one stained glass that survived the palace’s abandonment before it was restored later in the 20th century and a hole in the ground of an excavated soldiers’ neighborhood that our daughter quickly guessed was a toilet . At one point, he raced up the stairs to take a family photo of us from a spot a floor above us. At the end of the tour, he walked us down to the center of the old city and suggested a place for us to have lunch later in the day.

I am posting this again for this specific tour as I think it deserves to be mentioned. You cannot miss Alhambra!I was just in Granada recently, and I was looking to do some tours and have some fun. So I booked three tours with a company called Not Just a Tourist. I chose the panoramic walking tour, sunset walking tour and finally a Alhambra tour. The panoramic tour was really amazing, a real fun tour and the guide was great, we walked in many different neighborhoods and different plazas, all with such interesting and unique history. My sunset walking tour really blew me away; I mean I would have never suspected that when I was walking down all these streets that such amazing terrace’s where above me. And the views from these places were stunning and they all had pretty cool little bars so you could enjoy a drink and watch the beautiful sunsets. My Alhambra tour tour was also a great tour, I mean it was a sunny and hot but the monument and its beautiful garden would offer such a nice shelter and shade. Overall I would recommend any of the tours I have done, and judging by these tours, I wouldn’t hesitate to take any of their other tours next time I am in Seville.

We had booked a private transfer with Not Just a Tourist and they suggested that we book this private visit of Alhambra instead of a group tour. It could not have been a better idea. We met our guide, Pedro, at the entrance and had a 2.5 hour walk in this amazing fortress. Pedro, had a lot of anecdotes to bring it into life and we learned a great deal about the history but also the present role of Alhambra in the city life.

We visited Alhambra with Jaime and are delighted with the amount of information and the way he brought this impressive castle into life. We were deciding between a group tour which was much less expensive or a private tour and Mahsa suggested a private tour so that we really can appreciate this gorgeous monument. It was the right decision and we are very thankful for this great tip. It just makes so much difference to dedicate more time to it and have your private guide with you than running around in large groups.
