More information

We offer a tour to the Seville Fair where you can share in this splendid Seville experience. Our guide will take us on a tour where you will discover the Paseo de Caballos, a spectacular parade of horses and magnificently decorated carriages as they enter the fair. You can admire the beauty of the Andalusian horses and the skillful horsemanship of the riders who are dressed up for this special occasion in beautiful, colourful costumes.

Our guide will tell you all about the origins of the fair and how it is all put together and will answer any questions you may have. As we marvel and walk down the lantern-lit streets, we will make a couple of stops in two of the private casetas; decorated marquee tents, that we have reserved for you. We will drink a glass of manzanilla sherry or rebujito: a sherry spritzer, accompanied by two different dishes each typical of the Andalusia region. In these casetas, we will also dance the traditional Sevillana dance, second nature to the locals and danced at all hours, dressed in the traditional costume.

To finish we will walk you back to the main gate to say goodnight and you can carry on enjoying the festivities in this wonderful fair now that you know the ins and outs of this special Seville celebration.

1 review for Seville April Fair Tour

  1. 5 out of 5

During our recent two day visit to Seville we had a chance to join two different tours with Not Just a Tourist: the April Fair Tour (with David) and the Triana Tapas Tour (with Jose). Mahsa (one of the company principals) was a great help in choosing and booking the tours and also providing lots of information on what to expect so that we could get the full enjoyment from the tours.

To start with, the Seville April Fair is simply out of this world! We could have never imagined the sheer scale and energy of it. One really has to be there and experience it first hand in order to really appreciate it, and David is just the perfect guide to show it off. Just navigating the busy “streets” while trying to stay together as a group (we joined another family on this tour) was super challenging but definitely fun. We were grinning the whole time and commenting on how electric the atmosphere was: the endless parade of horse drawn carriages, locals all dressed in the traditional flamenco attire, hundreds of beautifully decorated casetas, etc. During the tour we had a chance to visit two private casetas and both times it was like stepping into another world, where we could relax and enjoy the music, plenty of excellent tapas, and of course the rebujito (Sherry with Sprite). Throughout the tour David provided an insightful commentary about the fair and Seville, and even gave Sevillana dance lessons! At the end of the tour we were joined by Mahsa and another tour guide (unfortunately her name escapes me) for some “churros con chocolate” and coffee – a perfect way to finish the night!

The following night we met up with Jose at the Trina Bridge for the tapas tour. It was an amazing experience as well. We strolled the charming streets and stopped at four tapas bars. They were all quite different from each other (which gave us a very nice perspective) but all of them had a definite “locals-only” feel. We sampled a huge variety of dishes from seafood to Spanish omelettes, and everything in between. In fact the experience of going to tapas bars with a local expert enabled us to better enjoy Spanish food for the rest of the trip. We had such a nice time with Jose that we could have easily spent the entire night eating and chatting! The food was amazing and the atmosphere could not have been better.

I would definitely recommend Not Just A Tourist to anyone visiting Seville. Thank you Mahsa, David, and Jose for making OUR visit to Seville a very special one!
