We did 2 wine tasting tours with this company and loved them both. There are a lot of misconceptions about sherry and it was great to do this tour to enjoy some first quality wine (sherry) and food. The winery tour was awesome and the tasting was even better with 5 different varieties each quite different to the other one. The town itself is right in front of a very famous national park and we could rent kayaks and cross over to enjoy the beach on the other side. It was a wonderful day trip and perfect to spend a summer day.

Our guide, Carlos, picked us up from the hotel and drove us to Sanlucar de Barrameda . On arrival we parked up and walked to a working Bodega where we met Noria the guide who was to take us round. I expected to be part of a larger party but my wife, Elizabeth and I were the only guests for the tour which was fantastic . I am a member of the Wine Scholars Guild and am particularly interested in the wines of Spain . Sherry is an integral part of Spanish wine heritage and learning how and more importantly why it was produced in a fully working environment was a delightful revelation. But this is not just tour for wine geeks. Its a living breathing history session which anyone could enjoy . Carlos arranged for us to have lunch in a great tapas restaurant we would never have found without him and was as attentive as we wanted him to be throughout the whole day . An indulgence – yes – but worth every penny

Awesome wine, awesome trip, awesome guide. It was a very nice and relaxing day and we enjoyed it a lot. It was like taking vacations from our vacations. Highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful day on this beautiful tour. Mahsa picked us up at our hotel and after 1.5 hour we reached this beautiful town right where the river meets the ocean. Mahsa explained that this was where the first ships left for America. The winery and the visit were amazing and we were the only guests which felt amazing. Nuria the guide was very knowledgeable and changed our entire concept about the sherry. Ever since this trip we are ordering sherry instead of wine following the local traditions. Mahsa also set up for us a nice tapas lunch with a lot of local specialities. It was an amazing day and felt very relaxed and informative.

A fun day with a friendly guide. Our guide was Nestor and he was very attentive and nice. The drive is not too long but perfect to enjoy the ocean breeze as well as the milder temperatures. We booked a private tour to Sanlucar and it proved to be a great way to relaxed from Seville and all the monuments. We learnt a lot about the local culture and cuisine and enjoyed amazing tapas in a beautiful and old winery that also functions as a restaurant.

Nestor picked us up at 9 am to spend a wonderful day south of Sevilla in Sanlucar de Barrameda. It was about an hour and half drive, but along the way, we had a wonderful conversation with our host (and new friend!) Nestor!
Nestor took us to two different wine making places, the first was the oldest Bodega where Anna gave us a very informative tour about making the dry white wines and their famous Sherry Pedro Ximenez known as PX. We then tasted the different wines. After this bodega, we stopped by another local winery and tasted their wines and sherry.
For a late lunch, Nestor took us to a local tapas place, Casa Balbino. He ordered several local speciality tapas for us to try. We really enjoyed having his local expertise in ordering and trying the delicious tapas!
Before driving back to Sevilla, we went to a rooftop bar where we could see the beautiful city of Sanlucar de Barrameda and the sand beaches of the Atlantic coast. It was a very windy and chilly day (Late March) so walking along the beach would not have been enjoyable.
We have done several of these tours with a local person in many countries. It is a fantastic way to really experience and appreciate the place we are visiting. Nestor was THE BEST host and we enjoyed every minute of the day we spent on this tour with him!
After we said goodbye to our friend, Nestor, we had dinner later that night and we were served the PX as an after dinner drink…we knew exactly what it was and how it was made.

This is a must for any wine lovers. There is so much into Spanish sherry and there are so many varieties. I always thought that sherry was a sweet dessert wine and was very surprised to have so many dry varieties. Sherry seems to be an important part of the local culture in Andalusia and we were happily part of it. Our guide was very passionate too and being a local shared great insights with us. You can also buy some bottles in their shop. After the sherry tasting we had a walk in the old town and then our guide booked a restaurant at the river side which had amazing food options. It is run by a famous chef and was a culinary delight.

Even though we had booked a small group tour we find ourselves the only ones booked in so enjoyed a fabulous private day with our guide guide Miguel and driver Roberto. Very impressed that they didn’t cancel the tour!
This tour is a little different to the others in that instead of going to Jerez we visited two of the oldest and most renowned wine cellars the charming village of Sanlucar de Barrameda. Sanlucar is both a sherry and fishing town, as it is where the Guadalquivir River meets the Atlantic Ocean. Both Bodegas provided detailed explanation of their sherry making process and were generous with what they tasted with us. Both very friendly and enjoyed great sherry and lots of laughs. Very different to normal wine making with aged barrels being the key to the flavour.
We walked to the town square in Sanlucar for lunch at Miguel’s favourite tapas bar. As we are next to the sea we focused on seafood. We then walked down to the shore to take in the view. It’s kind of spooky to imagine all the history here. It was like seeing ghost ships.
Miguel loves his job and it shows. We were treated like family friends, regaled with stories and jokes. Absolutely fabulous day!

Awesome wines and food. Make sure to try “tortilla de camarones” that is the local specialty in the bar in the main square. It has a great ambiance and prices are very affordable. There is a nice castle to visit. Not worth entering but just the walk up there is nice. The town itself has many wineries and we visited one that offered a great tour with a knowledgeable and passionate guide.
